Seine banks From the heart of the town, the old Chemin de Halage offers almost 7 kilometers of gentle links along the banks of the Seine. This greenway gives the public a glimpse into the history of Les Mureaux: from the sailing clubs that hosted the regattas of the 1924 Olympic Games, to the Quai Magellan, where the Ariane launcher is still loaded for its journey to Le Havre and Kourou. Not forgetting the old lock, the towpath, the remains of the Gallo-Roman port dating from the 1st century AD, and Impressionist painters such as Gustave Caillebotte who drew their inspiration from these natural landscapes.
Between the Olympic flame, the conquest of space and river life, the history of our city has been written along the banks of the Seine.
